What is mifiction?

mifiction stands for Mobile Interactive Fiction. It is the fiction publishing name of Mobile Interactive Horizons Ltd, a UK company which designs, creates and supports the concept of mifiction and moooks

 

What is a moook?

A moook stands for a Mobile Book which is designed to be read on a mobile phone, PDA or other mobile device. Each moook is usually around 10 chapters long and each chapter contains 10 to 15 sections. The average length is around 25,000 words. The reader makes decisions on the progress of the story by choosing options in the sections which lead to different sections depending on the choice. This makes the stories interactive - something that is difficult to achieve with a normal book.

 

What are moooks about?

Moooks are available in just about every fiction genre: science fiction and fantasy, romance, modern day crime thrillers and mysteries, comedies, etc. Whatever your taste or interest, there's sure to be a moook that suits you. What are the key benefits of mifiction and moooks?

moooks published by mifiction are a new and exciting way of reading stories. You don't have to carry a book around or a dedicated ebook reader, you can access them using your mobile phone. Payment is easy using either Paypal or SMS text and as the payment is by chapter you don't have to buy the whole moook at once.

 

Are moooks designed to work with dedicated ebook readers such as the Kindle?

No. At mifiction we felt that our readers didn't want to either carry around or pay for a dedicated ebook reader when they already had mobile phones, the majority of which are perfectly capable of displaying moooks.

 

Am I Purchasing or Renting the moook?

You are renting the moook. The mifiction system allows you to view moooks - interactive stories designed specifically for mobile devices. The moooks are not downloaded to your device, rather they are viewed on your mobile device from the web. You can pause in reading any chapter at any time and go back to it, but once you have left that chapter you can't go back to it without paying for it again.
