The mifiction competition judging process is now complete and we are pleased to announce the following winners:

Congratulations to all our winners. The judges were pleased to see so many excellent entries and there were many more that were equally deserving of a prize but didn't quite make the top eleven.
Although the mifiction competition is now closed we would very much like to see new ideas and new stories with a view to publishing them when we launch in February 2010.
Competition Winner's Bios:
William Dunn for "Dead Flowers"
Will moved to London at the age of eighteen and lived there for ten years before departing for Barcelona, where he now lives and works as a freelance journalist.
Elizabeth Hopkinson for "The Masqued Mirror"
Elizabeth is from West Yorkshire, UK, home of the Bronte sisters and the Cottingley fairies. Her fantasy stories have appeared in a number of magazines, webzines and anthologies, as well as in her own short story collection, My True Love Sent to Me. She likes mocha and manga, and is currently writing a teenage fantasy novel.
Andy Brown for "Thirty Gold Pieces"
Andy is 47 and lives in a town called North Berwick around 25 miles from Edinburgh in Scotland. He is a musician and found the competition purely by accident!
Carlo-Jesse Miozzi for "The Oni Infection"
C.J. Miozzi is a Canadian planetary scientist and freelance writer with a passion for art and fiction. A McGill University graduate, he has worked on a number of publications as a graphic designer, layout editor, and supervising editor.
Terence Wheeler for "The Twin Keys of Lapis"
Terence is a graduate musician who taught secondary aged children until he retired to France in 2000. Since that time he has been writing and has published three books and has a lot more yet to be published. He spends some of his time talking to adult groups and schools about France and writing.
A. F. E. Smith for "Avenging Angel"
A.F.E. Smith is a non-fiction editor who shares her home in the east of England with her partner and hundreds of books. In her spare time, when not creating worlds of her own, she enjoys sketching and listening to old rock music. She is currently working on a fantasy novel as well as a series of books for young adult readers.
James Clegg for "A Touch of Death"
James is a freelance journalist and writer. He lives and works in south London.
Carole Watson for "Uprooted"
Carole lives in the hills near Perth, Western Australia. She enjoys horse riding, cryptic crosswords and all manner of arty pursuits. Spring is her favourite season and she could drink tea for Australia.
Emma Fowler for "The Party"
Emma is currently studying Art and Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, and is in her second year. She is specialising in writing for young people and has a blog at: emmafowlerswriting.blogspot.com. She is 22 years old and spends her time away from education working in local goverment, volunteering in Southern India and helping at her local church youth group. A love of books grew in her teenage years and now she wants to share it with other teenagers through her own writing.
Laura Martin for "The Promise of Paradise"
Laura is from Sussex in the south of England and is currently a student studying medicine.
Adrian Moar for "Yorgi and the World of Pitara"
Adrian lives in a small village in the north of Scotland near to the Moray Firth coast. He has a beautiful wife and four children all of whom are keen to see their dad's work on their own mobile phones. He has always enjoyed this style of adventure writing and can see the potential in applying this to mobile phones.
