He heard the river before he saw the rock basin. Yogan unfastened the animal skin tied at his waist and leapt into the water. Broyod slipped off his tunic and jumped in after him. The water looked cool in the heat of the afternoon and Marvid wanted to go in as well. But he had no swimming trunks.
Something clicked in his brain. Why would I put on clothes if I'm going to get wet? He took off his shorts and sandals and jumped into the water.
He felt free and they splashed about in the water, diving under each other's legs.
As he surfaced, Marvid heard voices and laughter. He panicked as two girls and another boy came into sight.
